Well what an end to our explorers topic! Having planted small onion bulbs in April, we chopped them and made onion soup on the camp fire. All the children cooked around the campfire safely and most enjoyed the soup! Over the last term we have learnt to solve problems (river crossing), make shelters and cook on a camp fire. What will the next half term bring?

Our last session of this academic year – how time flies when you’re having fun! We had a go at all our favourite things from den building, to mini beast hunting and of course toasting marshmallows around the camp fire.
A huge thank you goes out to all the forest school helpers. We are so lucky to run forest school the way we do at Lever House. Thank you so much – it really does enhance the pupils learning and make our curriculum wide and varied. Enjoy your summer break and we hope you will come and help again next year.
Thank you to all our families who visited forest school yesterday. We had a lovely time. The children showed their grown ups around forest school, we made dens and whittled sticks to make skewers to toast our marshmallows.
We had a lovely evening experiencing forest school with our grown ups. Thank you all for visiting I hope you enjoyed as much as I did.
Reception children learnt to whittle to make a skewer for their marshmallow that they toasted round the campfire. As well as making dens and playing in the mud pit.
