EYFS learnt to make hiding places and much needed shelters for the terrible weather we have had lately. They learnt the names of different resources we use such as tarpaulin, rope, pegs etc.
Y1 pupils, learnt about different styles of shelters – tie on, lean to and tents style.
We then tested the dens by playing hide and seek.
Take a look…
Did you spot our new shelter at basecamp? – thanks to Mrs Ellis!
Thank you to all our families who visited forest school yesterday. We had a lovely time. The children showed their grown ups around forest school, we made dens and whittled sticks to make skewers to toast our marshmallows.
Both EYFS A and EYFS B have visited forest school now. We collected interesting things like leaves, twigs, feathers, pine cones and acorns. We then explored forest school – we made dens, climbed and dug in the mud pit. We finished off with a game of hide and seek. We had fun!
We had a lovely evening experiencing forest school with our grown ups. Thank you all for visiting I hope you enjoyed as much as I did.
Take a look at our hiding places and us whittling. We had fun balancing on the trunk of the fallen tree and playing hide and seek.
Reception children were asked to work in a team to make a hiding place that would fit all of the children in their group in. We used big branches, rope and tarpaulin as a cover.
