We are learning to identify some trees at forest school, including deciduous and evergreen trees. We found leaves near the trees and tried to identify them. We found oak, willow, silver birch, hazel, alder and holly.
Can you identify trees on the way home or at the park?
As well as animal life, year 2 looked for wild flowers too. Take a look…
A big thank you goes out to all the family and friends that help make forest school work at Lever House. From the ladies who come each week to help with groups at forest school, to Mrs Robb who maintains the flower beds and pots and then Mr Morley who has developed our allotments this year.
A couple of months ago we planted our seed potatoes and today we had our first harvest!
Hope they taste good Year 2!
If you have a spare hour and a half to help out with groups at forest school, please email Mrs Macleod.
Key Stage 1 pupils have been gardening, trying to restore some of the allotment area. We found lots of weeds, nettles, fox gloves, strawberries and Y1 have planted peas which are growing well. We dug up the weeds ensuring we got the roots and checked to see if the soil was healthy.
If you know anyone who is interested in helping to restore, weed and plant in our allotment, please contact Mrs Macleod. Her email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
