Land ahoy EYFS! Pretending to be pirates at forest school

First of all we looked at maps and identified features of environment. We saw an X marked the spot at forest school. We landed and looked for treasure. We found gold coins. We then made our pirate shelters, dug for gold and even made a new ship. We even walked the plank! Take a look..

Can you use your imagination to pretend to go to another land?

Celebrations at forest school

As part of our topic work about celebrations, EYFS are celebrating forest school style ….experiencing a camp fire!

A couple of weeks ago we whittled sticks to make a skewer and today we toasted marshmallows around the camp fire.

We listened carefully to instructions, watched how Mrs Macleod made a camp fire and in turn toasted our marshmallows.
Here is Ants group…

Other pupils in EYFS will all experience a camp fire before the end of term.
How else could we celebrate?

EYFS A (Caterpillar group) make dinosaurs that talk at forest school..

Linking to our topic work, we used natural materials to make our dinosaurs and used the morpho app on the iPad to make them talk!
