As part of the learning in Literacy Year 6 have been reading Kensuke’s Kingdom. Following on from that, Year 6 took part in a survival day at forest school. They went on a scavenger hunt, made shelters, went foraging, used tools and learnt how to make and manage a fire safely. Here are a few photographs from the day.
See Year 6 blog for more photographs. Thanks Year 6 – a great day!
To complete our habitat project Year 6 had to make a collage from natural materials of a habitat including plants and animals. Can you guess what they are?
Group B learnt how to work as part of a group to pitch their own tent.
Year 6 were back at forest school. Mrs Macleod assessed how well they could work together and shelter making skills. Over the next half term Year 6 will be researching different habitats and getting involved in setting up our new pond habitat, as well as learning simple bushcraft skills.
